Influence of Social Media on Applicant Perceptions of Anesthesiology Residency Programs During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Quantitative Survey

Traditionally, visiting medical student rotations and in-person activities during the interview process have helped residency programs to evaluate and recruit potential applicants while also allowing applicants to evaluate programs firsthand [10]. However, due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, these opportunities were limited. As a result, social media may have played a crucial role for not only residency programs but also applicants going forward in the anesthesiology match process.
