Influence of Social Media on Applicant Perceptions of Anesthesiology Residency Programs During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Quantitative Survey

Residency applicants and physicians, in general, are accustomed to using electronic and social media resources for career opportunities [1-4]. A study from 2003 showed that 79% of applicants used a program’s website to decide where to apply and about a third used information from the website to help create a match list [5]. Over the last 2 decades, the use of the internet to gather information about programs is universal among applicants [6,7].
