Use of Technology to Support Health Care Providers Delivering Care in Low- and Lower-Middle-Income Countries: Systematic Umbrella Review

A health care provider is defined as a member of the health workforce who delivers health services, including doctors, nurses, community-based health care providers, allied health professionals, and volunteers who support the provision of health care. DHIs are defined as digital and mobile technologies used to support health system needs [2]. Performance of ChatGPT-4o and Four Open-Source Large Language Models in Generating Diagnoses Based on China’s Rare Disease Catalog: Comparative Study

The selection of physicians was not random but rather aimed at maximizing the inclusion of professionals from relevant fields that our research team had access to, ensuring a diverse representation of perspectives. This study used publicly available web-based textual data that did not contain any specific patient information. As a simulation of clinical diagnostic trials without intervention on real patients, this study complies with the institutional guidelines for ethics committee exemption.

Applications and Outcomes of Telehealth and Integrated Care in Men’s Health Urology

Applications and Outcomes of Telehealth and Integrated Care in Men’s Health Urology

In addition, work-life balance remains a significant issue, with only 67.3% of urologists reporting sufficient time for family and personal life in the 2017 AUA Census. This percentage drops notably among female urologists, especially those aged 45 years and younger, where only 36.3% reported adequate work-life balance [34]. Telehealth has the potential to alleviate some of the pressures faced by urologists by reducing the need for in-person visits and allowing for more flexible scheduling.

Development of a Serious Game to Simulate Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Experiences: Collaborative Quasi-Experimental Study

Development of a Serious Game to Simulate Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Experiences: Collaborative Quasi-Experimental Study

To assess the differences in ratings for the serious game between the general public and health care professionals and students, we compared the questionnaire responses. While there were no differences in age or gender, playtime was significantly shorter among health care professionals and students than among the general public (Table 2). There were no differences in the ratings for the 6 questions between the 2 groups (Figure 3).

Development of an Eco-Friendly Smartphone-Assisted Nystagmus Recording System for Recording Vertigo Attacks Anytime, Anywhere: Pilot App Development Study

These conditions, which lead to episodic vertigo attacks, reduce the patients’ quality of life by causing nausea and vomiting, accompanied by headaches or an increased risk of falls [2]. Among diseases, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is one of the most frequent causes of episodic vertigo; its 1-year prevalence and incidence were 1.6% and 0.6%, respectively [3].

The Lived Experiences of Racial and Ethnic Minority Nurses Exposed to Racial Microaggressions in the Hospital Setting: Qualitative Study

Compared to other health care professionals, nurses in particular are at a higher risk of being abused in the workplace since they spend more time with patients [3]. Thus, type II WPV is a prevalent issue between nurses and patients in hospitals. In fact, according to a survey conducted in 2024 by National Nurses United, 8 in 10 nurses (81.6%) have experienced at least one type of WPV in the past year [4].

Impact of AI-Assisted Diagnosis on American Patients’ Trust in and Intention to Seek Help From Health Care Professionals: Randomized, Web-Based Survey Experiment

Unlike self-reported knowledge, experience reflects real interactions (eg, using AI at work or in daily life). This practical experience likely offers a more accurate view of AI’s strengths and weaknesses, which may explain why frequent users showed less aversion. This research has the following theoretical implications.

Patient and Public Perceptions of 3D Technologies (Models and Images) to Facilitate Health Care Consultations: Exploratory, Mixed Methods Study

With advancing technologies come huge opportunities to enhance the way the public interacts with professionals and health and care systems. However, while there is some research demonstrating the benefits of 3 D technologies from a patient perspective, there is not much known about the public’s readiness to adopt such technologies as part of standard care.

Development of Machine Learning–Based Risk Prediction Models to Predict Rapid Weight Gain in Infants: Analysis of Seven Cohorts

Development of Machine Learning–Based Risk Prediction Models to Predict Rapid Weight Gain in Infants: Analysis of Seven Cohorts

Compelling evidence suggests that obesity risk originates early in life and is hard to reverse once developed [2]. World Health Organization (WHO) global estimates indicate that a high prevalence of overweight and obesity is already evident in children younger than 5 years, with 37 million cases being reported in 2022 [3]. The WHO has thus recognized “Lowering the prevalence of overweight in children under the age of five” as one of the key outcome targets in the acceleration plan to stop obesity [4].
