Cardiovascular toxicity, commonly known as cardiotoxicity, defined by the 2022 European Society of Cardiology Cardio-Oncology guidelines, is the term used to describe the harm inflicted upon the heart muscle or cardiovascular system due to different cancer treatments. Although chemotherapy and radiation therapy are essential tools in the fight against cancer, they can have negative side effects on the heart.

Integrating a Mobile App to Enhance Atrial Fibrillation Care: Key Insights From an Implementation Study Guided by the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research

Using these frameworks, this study aimed to identify key enablers and challenges in integrating a mobile health app designed for cardiac rehabilitation and healthy lifestyle promotion among patients with atrial fibrillation at a private cardiology clinic in Australia. In doing so, we addressed the limited understanding of context-specific barriers and facilitators that remain underexplored in digital health integration efforts in health care.

Fellows were recruited by intensivist leaders of the CVI from departments that rotated through or interacted with the CVI ICU (Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine, Cardiology, Anesthesia, Surgical Critical Care, and Cardiac Surgery). All study recruitment took place via email by the CVI Medical Director and Program Director to physicians in fellowship based on department and rotation schedule from pulmonary critical care medicine, surgical critical care medicine, cardiac surgery, and cardiology.
