The current public health crises we face are global in nature, ranging from communicable disease pandemics, such as COVID-19, to endemic noncommunicable diseases and long-term care burdens [1,2]. The presence of multiple overlapping health issues, termed a syndemic, is further complicated in the age of polycrises. Crisis responses increasingly require coordination from multiple sectors, including, but not limited to, health care, environment, and social services [3,4].
