Furthermore, a spectrum of clinical and nonclinical factors could contribute to significant variation in case duration between surgeons [10,11]. This study will compare the ACT and SCT of THA and TKA between an academic medical center (AMC) and a community hospital (CH) for 2 orthopedic surgeons. We hypothesize that after adjusting for surgeon, the ACT and SCT between an AMC and a CH will have a statistically significant difference for both knee and hip procedures.
