Quantifying outcomes and the validity of simulations is a difficult task. It is essential that a VR simulator is valid in the sense that it resembles a realistic situation and reinforces the appropriate skills and knowledge [14]. This validity consists of several subtypes, including face validity and content validity. Face validity relates to the realism of a simulator, or in this case how well the simulation resembles real-world clinical practice [14,15].
