Harnessing Innovative Technologies to Train Nurses in Suicide Safety Planning With Hospital Patients: Formative Acceptability Evaluation of an eLearning Continuing Education Training

Harnessing Innovative Technologies to Train Nurses in Suicide Safety Planning With Hospital Patients: Formative Acceptability Evaluation of an eLearning Continuing Education Training

One recommended intervention is suicide safety planning, a brief, evidence-based preventive intervention that may be feasible to deliver with at-risk acute care patients to support patients after hospitalization [13-16]. Suicide safety planning includes a provider working collaboratively with a patient to identify a multistep plan for coping with suicidal thinking and urges to get safely through or avert a suicidal crisis.

Application of an Adapted Health Action Process Approach Model to Predict Engagement With a Digital Mental Health Website: Cross-Sectional Study

Application of an Adapted Health Action Process Approach Model to Predict Engagement With a Digital Mental Health Website: Cross-Sectional Study

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, it was estimated that 57.8 million adults in the United States lived with a mental illness in 2021 [2]. Digital Mental Health (DMH) is seen as the next generation of mental health care, in that it is readily accessible to most, affords anonymity when appropriate, and can be used when a consumer needs it, rather than when a provider is available.

Comparing Message-Based Psychotherapy to Once-Weekly, Video-Based Psychotherapy for Moderate Depression: Randomized Controlled Trial

Comparing Message-Based Psychotherapy to Once-Weekly, Video-Based Psychotherapy for Moderate Depression: Randomized Controlled Trial

Among the various forms of telehealth interventions, asynchronous message-based psychotherapy holds particular promise, as it is more likely to be accessible through mobile apps and is met with less skepticism as a means of intervention [9]. Unlike synchronous telehealth interventions, in asynchronous message-based psychotherapy, patients can seek discreet and flexible support as needed and on their own schedule, as opposed to waiting once a week or every other week to meet with a therapist [10].

Usability Issues in Evidence-Based Psychosocial Interventions and Implementation Strategies: Cross-project Analysis

Usability Issues in Evidence-Based Psychosocial Interventions and Implementation Strategies: Cross-project Analysis

We set out to apply a core concept from human-centered design (HCD) to understand and improve EBPIs: usability. Usability is the degree to which a program can be used easily, efficiently, and with satisfaction/low user burden by a particular end user [17].

Digital Mental Health Intervention Plus Usual Care Compared With Usual Care Only and Usual Care Plus In-Person Psychological Counseling for Orthopedic Patients With Symptoms of Depression or Anxiety: Cohort Study

Digital Mental Health Intervention Plus Usual Care Compared With Usual Care Only and Usual Care Plus In-Person Psychological Counseling for Orthopedic Patients With Symptoms of Depression or Anxiety: Cohort Study

Additionally, we hypothesized that compared with orthopedic patients who established in-person care with a psychologist, orthopedic patients who were provided a digital mental health intervention would report comparable improvements in mental and physical health at a 2-month follow-up. This was a retrospective study that involved ancillary analysis of data collected from a single-arm pilot feasibility study and other existing medical record data (Clinical Trials.gov NCT04640090) [14].

Harnessing Innovative Technologies to Train Nurses in Suicide Safety Planning With Hospitalized Patients: Protocol for Formative and Pilot Feasibility Research

Harnessing Innovative Technologies to Train Nurses in Suicide Safety Planning With Hospitalized Patients: Protocol for Formative and Pilot Feasibility Research

To be most widely scalable, the training will be flexibly designed with components that can be integrated into a routine workflow in a clinical setting. The Joint Commission recommends suicide safety planning for patients in hospital settings at risk of suicide. Suicide safety planning can be a brief, 30- to 45-minute intervention in which a provider works collaboratively with a patient to identify a multistep plan for coping with suicidal thinking and urges to prevent suicidal behavior [42,43].

Behavioral Activation and Depression Symptomatology: Longitudinal Assessment of Linguistic Indicators in Text-Based Therapy Sessions

Behavioral Activation and Depression Symptomatology: Longitudinal Assessment of Linguistic Indicators in Text-Based Therapy Sessions

Term sets constructed in this way have a strong correlation with the corresponding LIWC categories, which were constructed in a completely manual process. In essence, Empath’s approach uses distributional representations of words to identify similar terms to a set of seed terms based on their distributional statistics across a large text corpus.
