Moreover, such a tool has the potential to minimize interventions that are no longer recommended or even inappropriate per the current ACLS guidelines, such as procainamide or sodium bicarbonate. As part of a quality improvement program, we conducted a clinical trial wherein each house officer was randomized to perform a cardiac arrest simulation with and without a mobile app designed to support the use of ACLS guidelines.
