Applying Human-Centered Design Principles to Digital Syndromic Surveillance at a Mass Gathering in India: Viewpoint

Core team member Dr John Won introduces the 2015 digital surveillance effort. The troubleshooting team comprised voluntary medical students (from India) and medical residents (from New York), all of whom had co-created the tool, and several of whom had worked at the 2013 Kumbh Mela and could anticipate the uncertainties associated with deployment in a large chaotic mass gathering.
