Views and Uses of Sepsis Digital Alerts in National Health Service Trusts in England: Qualitative Study With Health Care Professionals

Participants viewed sepsis digital alerts as useful to remind and prompt HCPs of a number of actions, from reviewing a patient’s information in the EHRs to visiting them in person. In general, participants reported that sepsis digital alerts’ utility decreased with increasing staff training and experience with sepsis cases, and with the higher senior HCP:patient ratio of certain units, such as acute or intensive care.
