Chatbot for Social Need Screening and Resource Sharing With Vulnerable Families: Iterative Design and Evaluation Study

Chatbot for Social Need Screening and Resource Sharing With Vulnerable Families: Iterative Design and Evaluation Study

Driven by recent recommendations, there has been a rapid uptake of social need screening [2,6]. Although screening can be relatively straightforward, linkage to resources to address social needs is a major challenge [7,8]. Typically, clinicians provide families who are identified with a social need with a resource sheet. Families are then responsible for follow-up.

Multimodal In-Vehicle Hypoglycemia Warning for Drivers With Type 1 Diabetes: Design and Evaluation in Simulated and Real-World Driving

Multimodal In-Vehicle Hypoglycemia Warning for Drivers With Type 1 Diabetes: Design and Evaluation in Simulated and Real-World Driving

To foster experimental control and external validity, the same procedure is replicated in a simulated driving setting (ie, a computer simulator) and a real-world driving setting (ie, a car in a closed circuit). Hypoglycemia is a common complication of diabetes. The monitoring of blood glucose is essential to prevent hypoglycemia. Intermittent self-monitoring of blood glucose, flash glucose monitoring, and continuous glucose monitoring are commonly used methods.

Effectiveness and User Perception of an In-Vehicle Voice Warning for Hypoglycemia: Development and Feasibility Trial

Effectiveness and User Perception of an In-Vehicle Voice Warning for Hypoglycemia: Development and Feasibility Trial

Although we did not observe a significant effect on the perception of the warning, we suspect that the participants may have experienced a double novelty: using a voice assistant while driving and experiencing a warning from an in-vehicle voice assistant. Thus, future research should include a more balanced sample and compare the perception of a voice assistant–based warning with a standard warning (eg, an acoustic tone).

Exploring the Perceptions of mHealth Interventions for the Prevention of Common Mental Disorders in University Students in Singapore: Qualitative Study

Exploring the Perceptions of mHealth Interventions for the Prevention of Common Mental Disorders in University Students in Singapore: Qualitative Study

In Singapore, major depressive disorder has a lifetime prevalence of 6.3%, whereas generalized anxiety disorders have a lifetime prevalence of 4.8% of the population [3]. The median age of onset of CMDs in Singapore is 22 years and most people with CMDs do not seek treatment within the first year of onset [4]. Furthermore, only 32% of those who have ever been diagnosed with a CMD have sought help from a specialized service provider [5], with a notable treatment gap identified among youth [6].

Smartphone-Delivered Ecological Momentary Interventions Based on Ecological Momentary Assessments to Promote Health Behaviors: Systematic Review and Adapted Checklist for Reporting Ecological Momentary Assessment and Intervention Studies

Smartphone-Delivered Ecological Momentary Interventions Based on Ecological Momentary Assessments to Promote Health Behaviors: Systematic Review and Adapted Checklist for Reporting Ecological Momentary Assessment and Intervention Studies

A pilot screening of the studies was completed before the actual screening process began. The title and abstract screening and full-text screening were conducted by 2 independent investigators. A third researcher resolved disagreements. Cohen κ was applied to measure the intercoder agreement in each screening phase. An investigator extracted the information from the included studies into a standardized form, and another researcher reviewed the form for consistency.

Context-Aware Systems for Chronic Disease Patients: Scoping Review

Context-Aware Systems for Chronic Disease Patients: Scoping Review

In another intervention, a sensor was used without a mobile app, where context was harnessed with the help of a wearable computer, and earphones delivered auditory cues to improve gait performance in Parkinson patients [17]. Self-monitoring was the most frequent health activity supported by context-aware systems in the included studies, where the collected data were then used to provide personalized feedback.
