PTA threshold tests will be performed using an audiometer (Otometrics Conera, Natus Medical Incorporated/GN Otometrics A/S) in a standard soundproof room with background noise less than 30 d B(A) to minimize the influence of human factors on the test results. The patient will be presented with sounds at frequencies ranging from 0.25 to 8 k Hz [33,34]. An audiologist will use the audiometer to measure both air conduction and bone conduction hearing thresholds.
