Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) for Population-Based Data Collection in Low- and Middle-Income Countries: Opportunities, Challenges, and Solutions

Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) for Population-Based Data Collection in Low- and Middle-Income Countries: Opportunities, Challenges, and Solutions

Electronic data collection methods can reduce common data entry errors and enhance data collection, storage, and analysis, compared to traditional tools [5,6]. However, when planning research, investigators need to weigh the trade-offs and benefits of different approaches. Population-based data are essential in epidemiology for understanding health issues and determinants and informing public health decisions and policies.

Telehealth Initiative to Enhance Primary Care Access in Brazil (UBS+Digital Project): Multicenter Prospective Study

Telehealth Initiative to Enhance Primary Care Access in Brazil (UBS+Digital Project): Multicenter Prospective Study

The Estratégia Saúde da Família (ESF; English: Family Health Strategy) team is a central component of this structure, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, treatment, and management through a community-based approach. The ESF is composed of a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals. This team, which is the minimum required, consists of a physician, a nurse, a nursing technician, and at least a community health agent [2,3].

Pain Assessment Tools for Infants, Children, and Adolescents With Cancer: Protocol for a Scoping Review

Pain Assessment Tools for Infants, Children, and Adolescents With Cancer: Protocol for a Scoping Review

Underlying the inadequate pediatric cancer pain management is the lack of proper pain assessment, which is key in initiating pharmacologic or nonpharmacologic therapy to assess and modify the effectiveness of treatment and care. Self-report is the gold standard for pain assessment [12], and a 2015 report by Wolfe-Christensen et al [13] found that 99% of children older than 13 years and 96% of children aged 7-12 years can reliably self-report pain.

Stakeholder Consensus on an Interdisciplinary Terminology to Enable the Development and Uptake of Medication Adherence Technologies Across Health Systems: Web-Based Real-Time Delphi Study

Stakeholder Consensus on an Interdisciplinary Terminology to Enable the Development and Uptake of Medication Adherence Technologies Across Health Systems: Web-Based Real-Time Delphi Study

While well-established terminologies are intended to be comprehensive and evolve with the evolution of health sciences and clinical practice, newer terminologies continue to be proposed focusing on specific knowledge areas and aiming for interoperability with established terms. The recently developed Classification of Digital Health Interventions [17] and the Behaviour Change Intervention Ontology [18] are 2 examples relevant for MATech.

Balancing Between Privacy and Utility for Affect Recognition Using Multitask Learning in Differential Privacy–Added Federated Learning Settings: Quantitative Study

Balancing Between Privacy and Utility for Affect Recognition Using Multitask Learning in Differential Privacy–Added Federated Learning Settings: Quantitative Study

Chen et al [14] applied it to audiovisual signals in the Audio/Visual Emotion Challenge and achieved a significant performance increase compared to baseline ML algorithms by detecting arousal and valence levels simultaneously. Since the human face source can be used for several tasks, such as gender recognition or age estimation, Sang et al [7] used MTL with convolutional neural network (CNN) for smile detection, emotion recognition, and gender classification.

Development and Validation of a Machine Learning–Based Early Warning Model for Lichenoid Vulvar Disease: Prediction Model Development Study

Development and Validation of a Machine Learning–Based Early Warning Model for Lichenoid Vulvar Disease: Prediction Model Development Study

Using an evidence-based medicine approach, a warning model has been constructed, offering a tool for the early identification of high-risk individuals. Furthermore, this model has the potential to enhance the diagnostic and treatment capabilities of medical personnel in primary community health service centers. This holds great significance in mitigating overall health care expenditures and the disease burden.

A SIMBA CoMICs Initiative to Cocreating and Disseminating Evidence-Based, Peer-Reviewed Short Videos on Social Media: Mixed Methods Prospective Study

A SIMBA CoMICs Initiative to Cocreating and Disseminating Evidence-Based, Peer-Reviewed Short Videos on Social Media: Mixed Methods Prospective Study

Given its reach, social media has also emerged as a powerful tool for promoting health and disseminating health-related research findings, surgical education, and medical information [2-4]. However, the role of social media in sharing clinical experiences is complex and carries potential benefits and challenges. Some benefits include rapid and wide dissemination of information at minimal costs to the end user, bridging the gap to health care access, and patient education [5].
