Predictive Factors and the Predictive Scoring System for Falls in Acute Care Inpatients: Retrospective Cohort Study

Predictive Factors and the Predictive Scoring System for Falls in Acute Care Inpatients: Retrospective Cohort Study

Tago et al [20] reported 8 predictors of falls in people with disabilities in Japan: age, sex, emergency hospitalization, admission to neurosurgery, use of sleeping pills, history of falls, independence in eating, and level of independence in daily living. Although fall prediction tools are widely used in Japanese hospitals, existing models vary in predictors and are often difficult to apply due to differences in facility and patient characteristics.
