Examining Weight Suppression, Leptin Levels, Glucagon-Like Peptide 1 Response, and Reward-Related Constructs in Severity and Maintenance of Bulimic Syndromes: Protocol and Sample Characteristics for a Cross-Sectional and Longitudinal Study

The NIMH Data Archive (NDA) collection includes data from all eligible participants (N=399) and a small number of participants (n=6, 1.5%) who were later determined not to meet full eligibility criteria (details present in the Data Availability section).

Using Large Language Models to Automate Data Extraction From Surgical Pathology Reports: Retrospective Cohort Study

Using Large Language Models to Automate Data Extraction From Surgical Pathology Reports: Retrospective Cohort Study

We reviewed 102 surgical pathology reports from 102 patients and excluded reports if they were from other organ sites (n=10), benign (n=2), cytopathology (n=5), or outside review (n=1). We included 84 reports for analysis. The study flowchart is shown in Figure 2. Flowchart of the study design and analysis. *The concordance rate was calculated as the total number of concordant answers/total number of answers for each of the 12 medical question answering (MQA).

Extended Reality (XR) in Pediatric Acute and Chronic Pain: Systematic Review and Evidence Gap Map

Extended Reality (XR) in Pediatric Acute and Chronic Pain: Systematic Review and Evidence Gap Map

A much smaller number of studies (n=6) examined the utility of VR in chronic pain populations including intensive pain rehabilitation (n=1) [112], chronic burn dressing (n=1) [113], chronic musculoskeletal pain (n=1) [114], chronic cancer-related pain (n=2) [115,116], and chronic abdominal pain (n=1) [117]. See Figure 2 for the summary of pain populations included across the studies.

Older Adults’ Perspectives on Participating in a Synchronous Online Exercise Program: Qualitative Study

Older Adults’ Perspectives on Participating in a Synchronous Online Exercise Program: Qualitative Study

The physiotherapist (n=1) and registered kinesiologists (n=3) were trained to work with older adults and adjusted exercise intensity weekly to meet participants’ abilities. The instructors and research team members supervised and moderated each class to ensure participant safety and assist with technological difficulties. All interactions between participants and the research team were conducted remotely via Zoom; no pre-established relationships existed prior to the study.

Impact of a 6-Week Postpartum Text Messaging Program (Essential Coaching for Every Mother) at 6 Months: Follow-Up Study to a Randomized Controlled Trial

Impact of a 6-Week Postpartum Text Messaging Program (Essential Coaching for Every Mother) at 6 Months: Follow-Up Study to a Randomized Controlled Trial

Comparison of high and low scores at 6 months postpartum by allocation. a Intervention (n=69) and control (n=70). b Intervention (n=68) and control (n=68). Based on 136 mothers who completed the postpartum anxiety measure at 6 months postpartum, there was no statistically significant difference in postpartum anxiety scores at 6 months postpartum (F1,131=1.077, P=.30, partial η2=0.00) (Table 2).

Impact of a Symptom Checker App on Patient-Physician Interaction Among Self-Referred Walk-In Patients in the Emergency Department: Multicenter, Parallel-Group, Randomized, Controlled Trial

Impact of a Symptom Checker App on Patient-Physician Interaction Among Self-Referred Walk-In Patients in the Emergency Department: Multicenter, Parallel-Group, Randomized, Controlled Trial

Two eligible participants in the control group dropped out immediately after randomization—due to organizational issues (n=1) and a medical condition (n=1). Three participants assigned to the intervention group withdrew their consent, and 5 additional participants were lost due to organizational issues. Of the 434 included participants, 188 (43.3%) identified as male, 220 (50.7%) as female, and 4 (0.9%) as diverse (with 22 participants not indicating their sex). The median age was 33 (IQR 26-45) years.

Evaluation of the Tu’Washindi Na PrEP Intervention to Reduce Gender-Based Violence and Increase Preexposure Prophylaxis Uptake and Adherence Among Kenyan Adolescent Girls and Young Women: Protocol for a Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial

We have randomized 22 administrative wards in a 1:1 ratio and aim to enroll about 72 adolescent girls and young women from each (total N=about 1584) to receive either the Tu’Washindi intervention plus usual HIV prevention services, or usual HIV prevention services alone.

The AI Reviewer: Evaluating AI’s Role in Citation Screening for Streamlined Systematic Reviews

Hence, 121 citations (n=21, 17.4% included and n=100, 82.6% excluded) were tested against predefined eligibility criteria using Chat GPT 3.5 (version September 25, 2023), Chat GPT 4 (version September 25, 2023), Google Bard (version 1.15; released on September 2, 2023), Meta Llama 2 (70b parameters, version 2.1.1; released on October 10, 2023), and Claude AI 2 (version 1.3; released on July 11, 2023). We used descriptive statistics to evaluate sensitivity, specificity, and overall accuracy.
