JMIR Medical Education Accepted for MEDLINE Indexing

(Toronto, December 19, 2023) JMIR Publications is pleased to announce that JMIR Medical Education has passed the Scientific Quality Review for MEDLINE and has been accepted for inclusion in MEDLINE, which is the U.S. National Library of Medicine's premier bibliographic database.

JMIR Medical Education was already indexed in PubMed. MEDLINE is a more selective subset of PubMed, consisting of the top 5,200 biomedical journals, and indexing in MEDLINE also means that articles are now also indexed with NLM Medical Subject Headings (MeSH terms) and other metadata.

Selection for MEDLINE is a result of a thorough review of the journal by reviewers from the Literature Selection Technical Review Committee (LSTRC). As stated in their selection criteria, "scientific merit of a journal's content is the primary consideration in selecting journals for indexing. The validity, importance, originality, and contribution to the coverage of the field of the overall contents of each title are the key factors considered".

We congratulate JMIR Medical Education’s Editor-in-Chief, Gunther Eysenbach, MD, MPH, FACMI, founding editor and publisher; Adjunct Professor, School of Health Information Science, University of Victoria and the JMIR Medical Education Editorial Board on this success which validates the importance and quality of this premier JMIR Publications journal.

Some of the comments from the Literature Selection Technical Review Committee review:
